WAS IT AN APPLE?
For years we have been taught and believed that Adam and Eve, our first parents in the garden of Eden, ate an apple from the tree in the midst of the garden, and through this act of disobedience the whole world was plunged into sin.
Why should it be an apple? Apples were not even mentioned in the Word of God in reference to the garden of Eden although the Bible speaks (in Genesis 2:17) that they were not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
If it was not an apple, or in fact fruit of any tree in the garden, (Genesis 2:16), then of what did Eve partake and give to Adam?
It will be difficult for many readers to believe what is to follow, but of a truth, it was sex or adultery with the serpent that caused the fall of Evo and Adam. through which sin came into the world and brought each of us under its curse.
This tract is written to bring to your attention the revelation of God’s Word by the Holy Spirit through His Prophet, William Branham. God promises and has now fulfilled His Word, that before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for the Gentile Bride, His Elect, or the Church, that He would send a prophet and the mystery of God would be revealed (Malachi 4:5-6, Revelation 10:7).
Please do not let your reasoning or church theology reject the truth of this revelation, but let the Lord Jesus Christ give you understanding even as you read. It is not intended to reason with doctrines of men, but rather to state facts to which you are urged to refer in the Word of God, which is the final authority.
A serpent to our present understanding is a snake and it would be said: how could such have sexual union with Eve, or even talk with her? (Genesis 3:1). Before the fall of Adam and Eve the serpent was not a snake-like creature, he was as the Word of God says, the most subtil of any of the beasts of the field. He was upright and the highest form of beast between the animal kingdom and a human being, a beautiful creature which was able to talk to Eve.
This serpent, which the devil entered into, was cursed of God (Genesis 3:14) after his deception of Eve, and from an upright beast, almost human, he became a snake, the Lord saying, “upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.”
Science always has been and still is, looking for the missing link between the animal kingdom and the human being, but they will never find it. Why? Because there is nothing in a snake to identify it with its original form before the curse of God. If you are spiritual and are able to receive this revelation, you will glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.
Animal’s blood cannot mix or transfuse with human blood, but the blood of the serpent before the curse could and did.
The serpent, devil possessed, looking like a human being, able to talk, subtil and beautiful, referred to as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, perverted the Word of God. He spoke to Eve, “Ye shall not surely die,” (Genesis 3:4), when God had already spoken to Adam, (Genesis 2:17), “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of.
it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt
surely die.” The devil is a liar, (John 8:44), and called by the Lord (Revelation 20:2) “that old serpent….. the Devil and Satan.”
Men in the Bible are often likened to trees, (Psalm 1:3, Jeremiah 17:7-8, Isaiah 61:3), and we are the fruit of our mother’s womb. (Psalm 127:3).
The serpent deceived Eve because she did not stay in her place with her husband Adam but came out from behind the Word of God. Eve saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes and she did eat and gave also to Adam. (Genesis 3:6).
Eve’s eating was adultery (Proverbs 30:20) with the serpent which looked like a man, not the eating of an apple or fruit of any tree of the garden which the Lord commanded Adam to eat. (Genesis 2:16).
Eve’s understanding outside of the Word of God was that to be known by the serpent was to make one wise, it was to be desired and pleasant, and she partook, then gave herself also to Adam her husband (Song of Solomon 4:16).
Immediately they knew they were naked and hid from God (Genesis 3:7-8), and make aprons of fig leaves to cover their nakedness. Surely this must speak to our understanding that it was sex, and not apples.
Guilty before God they hid themselves, but the Lord sought them and called them. Adam blamed his wife, Eve aid the serpent beguiled her, and God judged the serpent, Eve and Adam. (Genesis 3:14-19)
The fruit or result of Eve being sexually known by the serpent and Adam was that she conceived both Cain and Abel. Life comes only from our Creator the Lord, but as Abel was the son of Adam, so was Cain the son of the serpent possessed of the devil, this being confirmed by the Word of God. (1 John 3:12).
The serpent was further confirmed to be Cain’s father when Cain murdered his brother Abel, because by revelation Abel offered a blood sacrifice to God. which was accepted while Cain’s offering of fruits of the ground was rejected. Right from the garden of Eden, blood alone is the accepted cleansing for life, both physical and spiritual, pointing to that perfect sacrifice when the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God was shed for our sins.
Abel who was Adam’s son was never mentioned in the genealogies of Genesis 5 and Luke 3 because he was murdered by Cain. Jude 14 records that Enoch was the seventh from Adam, and this truth further confirms tha Cain was the son of the serpent. Eve referring to the birth of Seth said, (Genesis 4:25) “God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel whom Cain slew.” Nowhere in the Bible is Cain referred to as the son of Adam. (Genesis 5:1-21) Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Enoch.
